Pastor Hougard is hosting an 8-day tour to the Luther sites of Germany from May 6-13, 2026. The cost is $3,749. It includes airfare from Chicago, entrance fees and both breakfast and supper each day. It is officially called, “Grace and Song – a Reformation Tour through the Sites of Martin Luther and Paul Gerhardt.” 

The tour begins in Berlin. Day 3 we go to Mittenwalde and Lübben where Paul Gerhardt worked, and Dresden where we will attend a devotional service at the Frauenkirche. Day 4 is Torgau where Allied troops met in World War 2 and where Martin Luther’s wife Katharina is buried and Wittenberg where Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church and where he preached at St. Mary’s. Day 5 is Eisleben where Luther was born and died and Erfurt where he made a vow to be a monk and the monastery where he took his monastic vows. Day 6 is the Wartburg Castle where Luther translated the Bible and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Day 7 we will travel to Worms where Luther stood before the emperor and confessed his faith with the famous “Here I stand” speak. We end the day in the city of Heidelberg.

 The trip is only 8 days, but there is a possibility of extending your trip if you would like to. Pastor Hougard has both the flyers and sign-up sheets.
